How To Find A Good Business Mentor – The Truth About Guru’s

Finding a good business mentor can be hard with so many people coming online offering to “help” you. Being a teacher takes more than just directing someone to a website link. You have to actually care about the person you are trying to help.

One of the best ways to make money in our industry is by learning how to be a good mentor. Generally speaking you end up making money not because you are selling something, but because people really want to buy from you. Before you can be the person people are seeking out, you first have to learn from someone who can show you the ropes by example.

This means finding somebody that will take the time to help you along your journey. In this article I am going to talk about how to find the right person for you.

Interview The People You Want To Follow

There are many people online who will only talk to you after you bought something from them and more often than not you still won’t get very much help from them. So the first thing you want to do before you even bother subscribing to them or buying anything from them is see if they are reachable.

Do they have a phone number you can call
Do they return the emails
Are they on skype
Can you find out about them by doing a google search on their name

To tell you the truth you are better off learning from someone who is not a “guru” than someone who is. Guru’s tend to charge an arm and a leg to tell you stuff that someone else will tell you for free. The truth about guru’s is they for the most part don’t know that much more than a non-guru. The only difference is they have gotten very good at branding themselves.

You can learn great information from someone who is only earning $15,000 a year online as you could from someone who is earning $150,000 a year online. The reason is because both people are making money on the internet, both people are where you would like to be.

The difference is the person making less is willing to do more for you personally than the person making more. Besides that the person making less is still in a learning process and they can share with you what is personally working for them. They have to be more resourceful because they don’t have the marketing budget that someone who is making $150,000 a year does.

The best mentor you can have is someone that you connect with and like. Everyone has to start somewhere if you are unwilling to give a person a chance , don’t expect someone to give you a chance.
