Almost every other person you meet has this perfect scheme to launch a major business. They will tell you that it will revolutionize the business, as you know it and they are right. It could actually be worth it. Unfortunately, very few of them try and even fewer succeed. It makes you wonder and ask. Why did ones succeed while others do not succeed?
There are lots of factors that make you a successful businessman or businesswoman and they do not teach them all in any business school. Some of these factors are:

Innovation is the soul of new business
The most common mistake that most entrepreneurs make is that they try to play it safe. They usually try to do what everyone else is doing. Put yourself in the place of a customer and ask yourself. Why would you want to go to an unknown person and buy something that you are already getting from a tried and tested source? To be successful you have to be first, best or cheapest. If you belong to one of these categories, you will get limited success. Belonging to two will mean that you will run a respectable business. If you have all three going for you will form a dynasty.
Research thoroughly before you jump in
Again, so many businesses fail because entrepreneurs started business thinking that they know what they were doing. Only to find out that their perception was not right. Unfortunately, by then they had already lost both opportunity and money. To make sure that you do not end up like these people. You should thoroughly research your market. Find out all that you can about your niche and all the ins and outs.
Do not set your mind in stone
You might have heard that storm uproots and breaks an oak, while the shrubs and willows survive. Business is similar; you should always be willing to accept that things will not always go your way. You should also never let your ego influence the decisions. Most important thing is the success of your business, if there are things that are more important than you had better not try to run a business.
Carve your own niche
Many people ask this question whether it will be the right time to start something completely new. To tell you the truth there is no time like now to start something completely new. You have little or no competition out there. An added advantage is that when the economy turns the corner you people would have already recognized you as the leader in your niche.
Know your limits
Human beings are amazing; you never know how far you can go until you try. However, make sure that you do not over exert yourself either physically or financially. Only try what you can keep doing day in day out and finance without any trouble.
